Philanthropy Massachusetts believes that systemic and structural racism is one of the biggest challenges facing our society today, and in its very existence, Philanthropy has played a role in contributing to this centuries-old challenge.

To address this issue, Philanthropy Massachusetts engaged Community Science to work with network and foundation members to develop a statewide strategy and communications content for advancing and shaping conversations around Race, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion.

Community Science will assist in developing meaningful goals and pathways to achieve them by engaging member organizations and analyzing data and evidence on decades worth of Race, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion strategies at national and local levels.

The results are expected to include a comprehensive scan of Race, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion strategy data and evidence, an engaged network of philanthropic foundations, a statewide strategy for advancing Race, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion with momentum behind it, and content for shaping philanthropic conversations around Race, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion issues.
