Emerging Action Principles for Designing and Planning Community Change contains a set of 18 action principles that philanthropic institutions, public agencies, and nonprofit organizations will find helpful as they embark on a journey to design and plan community change efforts. These principles were derived from a review of foundation-funded community change initiatives and interviews with people who implemented these initiatives. This document was published more than 10 years ago; nevertheless, the principles are relevant because professionals in philanthropy and evaluation have not changed their methods and practices to be appropriate for community and systems change work.
