Annapurna Ghosh, MPH, Managing Associate, has more than 15 years of experience as a public health researcher, evaluator, and strategic planner for a range of programs that focus on substance use disorder (SUD), HIV, and chronic diseases. She has expertise in facilitating strategic planning and the use of data with multi-sector coalitions, working across health departments to support coordination of care, and developing resources to promote best practices in patient centered care.  

Annapurna’s work contributes to systems transformations that bring progress towards health equity. She has conducted evaluations with states and individual organizations; developed evaluation plans and tools; analyzed and interpreted data (quantitative, qualitative, and social network data); conducted cost-effectiveness analyses; provided technical assistance to increase coordinated care for behavioral health; and facilitated strategic planning with community coalitions using data. In addition, she has produced evaluation plans for local and national public health programs, provider guidance documents to increase respectful language for stigmatized conditions including HIV and substance use disorders, webinars on health equity, and rubrics to identify pathways and progress in implementing best practices related to the treatment of opioid use disorder. Annapurna has led projects sponsored by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and state health departments. At Community Science, she continues to work on evaluation and other studies funded by these federal agencies and AmeriCorps as well as by philanthropic organizations such as de Beaumont Foundation and CareQuest Institute for Oral Health.  

Annapurna holds a Master’s in Public Health in Epidemiology and Biostatistics from Boston University.   

 

Personally, Annapurna has been learning to knit, taking dance lessons, and practicing her tennis returns.
