The National Health Services Corps (NHSC) has been bringing health services to underserved communities for more than 25 years. Community Science assisted NHSC and its parent agency, the Bureau of Primary Health Care of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, to use NHSC’s 25th anniversary celebration as an opportunity to increase the organization’s role in eliminating disparities in access to health care and to focus public attention on the issue. Community Science facilitated a participatory strategic planning process and provided technical assistance for this effort.
