Community Science worked with the Montgomery County Collaboration Council on Children, Youth, and Families to identify issues and concerns affecting racial and ethnic minority families and children in the county. The Council used the information to inform its strategy development. As part of the process, Community Science staff interviewed community leaders, advocates, and county staff, and identified existing documentation about the well-being of low-income, African American, and immigrant families in the county. Community Science also helped the council identify and implement strategies for strengthening two communities within the county, as well as strategies for building cross-cultural competence in general.
